This week we’re featuring Steve Bauer, Product Owner. “My favorite thing about Travelers Haven is the willingness of my co-workers to participate in the evolution of the Traveler’s Haven product experience. Upon joining the Travelers Haven family as Product Owner earlier this year, it quickly became apparent how intertwined our user experience is between Product and People, so, whether I am trying to learn more about a user’s flow through the product or the magic behind how our amazing team members take care of our clients through their corporate housing search to move-out, everyone is willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure we create a best in class experience for the Corporate Housing industry,” said Bauer.
Steve is a Colorado transplant originally hailing from Texas and Florida, he has lived all over the United States, finally settling in Denver because of the perfect mix of city life, outdoor activities, and industry. Steve attended both the University of Florida and Colorado University Boulder, he considers himself a Colorado Buff, but will always be a Florida Gator at heart.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
While many people think of me as their Product Owner, very few of them know that I have gone through many iterations to get to this point in my journey. I’ve studied and practiced colonial and maritime archaeology along the coasts of Florida, attained my MBA in accounting, and built and managed software products to solve the challenges of public financial reporting. Whether studying ancestral man or delving deep into the experiences of product users, the importance of understanding what drives your audience and the challenges they face is important to telling their story and defining the next chapters within it.
Where’s one place you wish you traveled?
I’ve always wanted to take a backpacking excursion into Patagonia not only to experience its natural beauty but to face up to its many challenges.
